     WATER DISCHARGE
    PERMIT
    The LDEQ, Office of Environmental Services, is accepting written comments on a  Louisiana Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (LPDES) permit prepared for River Barge Works, LLC, Burnside Facility, 1829 Applewood Road, Baton Rouge, LA 70808.  The facility operates between Mississippi River Miles 45 and 235 in Plaquemines, St. Bernard, Orleans, Jefferson, St. Charles, St. John the Baptist, St. James, Ascension, Iberville, East Baton Rouge and West Baton Rouge Parishes and is based at LA Hwy 44 & LA Hwy 942, Mississippi River Mile marker 170, in Burnside, Ascension Parish.  Upon the effective date of the final permit, the LPDES permit shall replace the previously issued LPDES permit.
    The principal discharge from this  source  made into the Mississippi River, waters of the state classified for primary contact recreation, secondary contact recreation, propagation of fish and wildlife and drinking water supply.  Under the SIC  4491, and 3731, the applicant proposes to discharge dry commodity vessel washwater, coal and coke vessel washwater, incoming ballast and void water and facility ballast and void water to the Mississippi River from an existing mobile ship and barge cleaning and repair service.
    During the preparation of this permit, it has been determined that the discharge will have no adverse impact on the existing uses of the receiving waterbody.  As with any discharge, however, some change in existing water quality may occur.

    The principal discharge from this  source  made into the Mississippi River, waters of the state classified for primary contact recreation, secondary contact recreation, propagation of fish and wildlife, and drinking water supply.  Under the SIC  4953, the applicant proposes to discharge treated marine bilge water, oilfield and marine equipment washwater, industrial oily water, slop wastewater, washdown wastewater, and marine grey water from a privately owned mobile wastewater treatment plant.
