  • HEADS OF THE CLASS: Local schools announce top graduates

  • East Ascension High School, Dutchtown High School and St. Amant High School named their valedictorians and salutatorians this week, as the eastbank schools began holding their graduation exercises.

  • East Ascension High School, Dutchtown High School and St. Amant High School named their valedictorians and salutatorians this week, as the eastbank schools began holding their graduation exercises.
    Laney Renee Gautreau and Michelle Leigh Krieger shared the valedictorian at St. Amant with 4.650 GPA averages.
    Gautreau plans to attend Louisiana State University and major in mathematics and education. Her parents are Sandy and Jill Gautreau.
    Krieger will also attend LSU and major in Spanish with a concentration in secondary education. She is the daughter of Edward and Vickie Krieger.
    Lindsay Marie Boley is the St. Amant salutatorian with a 4.645 GPA. She plans to attend LSU and major in architecture. Her mother is DeAnn Poche’ and her father is James Boley.
    Courtney Marie Stein is the East Ascension valedictorian with a 4.541 GPA. She is the daughter of Roland and Pamela Stein, and enjoys reading, writing, playing softball and working at the library. She is a member of the East Ascension Spartan Band, the Beta Club, National Honor Society and the AP Club. She plans to attend LSU in the fall and major in English.
    The East Ascension salutatorian, with a 4.514 GPA, is Arienne Ferchaud. She is president of the East Ascension Spartan Band, vice-president of the national Honor Society, a member of the Lady Spartan Soccer team, the AP Club and the Spanish Club. She plans to attend Louisiana State University and major in English. After college she hopes to become an author and editor.
    Valedictorian at Dutchtown High School is Jeff Ryan Boudreaux. His parents are Edward and Kathryn Brown. He plans to attend Louisiana Tech university and major in Chemical Engineering.
    He is a member of the National Beta Club, National Honors Society, Student Council, and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He was member of the track and field and cross country teams.
    The school salutatorian is Ian Hanlon, son of Brian and Marsha Hanlon. He plans to attend Mercer University in Macon, Ga. and major in business. He is a member of the National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta and was an EATEL Top Scholar and a Class 5A 1st Team All-State Goalkeeper in soccer.
